Originally from Oberlin, Ohio, I now live in Kent, Ohio and have over 15 years of teaching experience. I have earned my BA in music performance, studying cello. My professional performance career includes performing with the Strings of Gold, consisted of two violins and a cello. Performed all over Northeastern Ohio and Europe and have been on WCRF, radio broadcast and television, PAX TV. I have performed solo with the Lakeland Civic Orchestra and I was the substitute cello instructor at the Avon Lake School of Music. I taught privately at the Oberlin Conservatory and I have taught at Sound Board Music in Stow, Ohio. My professional orchestral experience includes performing with the Kent State Orchestra, the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra, the Oberlin Orchestra , a few youth orchestras, the Muskingum University Orchestra and the Thayer Symphony Orchestra in Boston, MA.
Music has been a part of my life since I was six years old. My mom started me on violin, then I switched to cello after seeing the Akron Symphony perform, I fell in love with the cello section. I have studied with Cleveland Orchestra member, Brian Dumm and Amir Eldan from the Oberlin Conservatory. I have also studied with Regina Mushabac and Heidi Albert from Baldwin Wallace College and Keith Robinson, member of the Miami String Quartet, Kent State University. I have spent my whole life around private music teachers and observing them and watching kids of all ages grow in their musical abilities. Watching this as a young person was inspiring to me as a performer and also as someone who wanted to teach private lessons. I enjoy working with young people of all ages, including adults. I believe that music is a language that is important and fun to learn and I consider it my mission and goal to teach this beautiful language to whoever is interested in learning it.
